Indoor Lacrosse commonly referred to as Box Lacrosse is a fast-paced full contact sport usually but not exclusively played inside the confines of an ice hockey/roller hockey rink, with glass and rink boards.

We welcome Men and Women from all backgrounds and all levels of experience. We bring together a wide range, from novices to national team players to develop the box lacrosse community.

SBL offers training sessions using qualified volunteer coaches with a wealth of coaching and playing experience. We are determined to have the highest level of play in Europe, your progress is important to us.

Players need to play, therefore we run a variety of events throughout the year including Boxfest and our own Winter League, game days, as well as training sessions.

SBL teams are open to all players, to give more people the opportunity to compete. Our Men's team are the SBL Capitals, our Women's team are the SBL Ravens

Equipment Required

Box Lacrosse Equipment

This version of lacrosse requires specific equipment for safety and gameplay reasons. We understand that for many SBL is the first chance to play box lacrosse, we have a rental system for some of the box lacrosse specific equipment.

Required:

Helmet

Gum Shield

Shoulder Pads

Bicep Pads

Rib Pads

Elbow Guards

Gloves

Athletic Protector (Cup)

Men's Lacrosse Stick

Shoes

- for our events in Oxford, an indoor 3G arena, preferably studded shoes

- for our events in Bisley, an indoor roller hockey arena, preferably basketball or futsal style shoes
